New Vertex Solutions Flight Simulators at LIFT Academy

In May 2023, LIFT Academy announced its partnership with Vertex Solutions to integrate Vertex Immersive Training Devices (ITDs) into training curriculum at both locations in Indianapolis, Indiana and Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Students are now utilizing these devices to build flight time, improve techniques and learn valuable lessons.

Vertex ITDs are virtual reality (VR) flight simulators that provide an immersive experience for students to practice procedures and maneuvers. These devices are proven to help students better retain information and achieve milestones like their first solo flights in a shorter period of time. Scott Morris, a student at LIFT Academy walked us through a flight on one of the simulators, taking off from Indianapolis, Indiana. Although a new device, Scott’s skills quickly transferred over because of the familiarity, and his flight was a success! “Flying the new simulator was an awesome experience! While it’s hard to simulate what it feels like to actually fly an airplane, this is as close as it gets. The virtual reality goggles made the flight very immersive,” he told us.
