If learning in an environment that’s always on the go and doesn’t look the same day after day appeals to you, then you would love being a LIFT student.
Every student’s schedule will look different and will vary by license or rating. Each student’s schedule will also be different based on their time and availability. Briefings will be held with a student’s CFI before and after each flight. Ground training sessions will be held several times a week. Students will also have virtual ground lessons they can complete from home or in groups.
Outside official class time, students will have access to their CFIs during their office hours for one-on-one conversations. In addition to official training, LIFT students will be invited to attend professional and leadership development workshops several times throughout the year. Students also have opportunities to engage in community outreach and volunteer opportunities.
Concerned that you missed an important admission cutoff date? No worries—at LIFT, we have rolling open enrollment. Whenever you apply, we process your information and if you’re accepted, you’ll have the opportunity to choose when you’d like to start based on class availability. New classes begin every month!
If you’re not from the Indianapolis area, prepare to fall in love with this vibrant, welcoming city. A May 17, 2018 article in Forbes referred to Indianapolis as “America’s most underrated city,” and went on to give a glowing review. Gaining a reputation for incredible local breweries, Indianapolis has also become a culinary haven while the growth of small neighborhoods with upscale-yet-hometown charm provides endless opportunities for exploration and entertainment.
If sports is your thing, the Circle City is home to the Indianapolis Colts, Indiana Pacers, Indiana Fever, Indianapolis Indians, Indy Eleven, the NCAA headquarters, world-class golf courses and of course the Indianapolis Motor Speedway. Love nature? We have the White River and Canal coursing through downtown surrounded by pathways, restaurants and living areas. The Cultural Trail and Monon Trail provide dozens of dedicated miles for walking, running and biking. Eagle Creek Park is one of only many parks that provide opportunities for all kinds of outdoor activities and nature watching.
Culture? We’ve got that, too. The Children’s Museum is the world’s largest of its kind. The Indianapolis Museum of Art at Newfields and the 100 Acres art and nature park provide just that: acres of art and nature both inside the museum and on its grounds. There’s also the Eiteljorg Museum, the Indiana State Museum, Conner Prairie living history museum and more. Prefer your culture to be live action? We have the world-renowned Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, the Indiana Repertory Theatre and a host of other music and theater groups.
No matter your interests, there’s something for everyone in Indianapolis, which has all the benefits of other major U.S. cities but without the sky-high costs. Need housing? We’ll help point you in the right direction.
