LIFT Academy Instructors Honored with Soaring to New Heights Award

The success of LIFT Academy students is a testament to the dedication and expertise of our flight instructors. Flight instructing is a unique role that combines the satisfaction of teaching with a passion for flying. For many, it is the next chapter of their journey, having trained to become skilled pilots and graduated from the program, therefore a steppingstone toward their goal of becoming an airline pilot.

Day in and day out, our flight instructors prepare for a variety of lessons and teach many different skills and maneuvers. When they are not in the sky, they are handling essential administrative duties and paperwork. Our instructors teach about four students a day, five days a week, and play a crucial role in the safety and success of our students and program.

LIFT measures the success of our flight instructors through defined metrics. As a way of recognizing our flight instructors who go above and beyond and routinely go the extra mile to ensure their students are successful, we created the Soaring to New Heights award.

For the third quarter of 2024, we’re thrilled to recognize IND-based instructors Kate Lassiter and Tyler Birgy, along with MYR-based instructor Elliott Ferguson, for their outstanding dedication. We congratulate them and thank them for their hard work each day.
